Maddie and Everly's Angels
We organized our group to honor the memory of our two daughters Maddie and Everly George.
Maddie was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma shortly after she was born. At almost a month old she had surgery to remove the cancer but contracted Menengitis during her recovery. She passed away at the hospital when she was two months old. When we were pregnant with Everly we found out that she had Trisomy 18 and that her life expectancy would be very short. She passed 10 hours after she was born.
The reason we want to give back to the hospital is because of the unbelievable care and support we received from everyone we had contact with during our journey at the hospital. Everly was never even in the Stollery but yet we had so many people from Nurses, Neonatologists, Palliative care team, the Foundation and many others reach out to help in any way they could.
We are all so fortunate to have such a world class facility in our back yard and we try do everything we can to support it.
